There's no such thing as a stupid question. That's how we all learn !
You type the text with your keyboard the same as you would typing posts, emails, etc.
The TOOLS are in the right side bar so that you have choices of what you want the final product to look like.
I always find it interesting to do a screen capture then try out all the controls on it to see what they do.
I haven't used many of them yet but I plan to spend a bit of time playing around with them.

TWO ways to save your finished Snagit project. (sorry I cut off the bottom of the screen capture for this example)
#1 in red ---Using FILE/SAVE -- this is so you can save it in a specific area -- desktop, folder, etc.
#2 in orange --- Using drag and drop method --- this is so that you can drag it onto your desktop or onto an open project you are working on. Click on it - hold your mouse down on it --- drag to desktop.
I usually use #2 method if it's something I want to use right away.

Good Job !
I didn't pick any specific font. I just kept clicking through the list until I found one I liked.
All those little practice ones that you did and dragged off your picture can be deleted. click on each one of them and hit your delete key and that should take care of them. Just be careful that you don't delete your picture of the text you are using.
Ignore my post about the orange and red method --- I forgot to attach the screen capture. I'll re-do it.
Okay I did it.
I see you did it the quick way without any help which just shows that you're a fast learner !!!
