I've checked the cam a few times since this morning but all I've encountered is the city loader. No birds. Sad
I can think of no other reason for their absence but to blame it on the City work being done.

I rechecked the City link to confirm the river bank work at the Zoo is April 6th to 30th.
Egg laying last year commenced April 25th. My instinct is telling me the O's will be relocating to a more peaceful setting but I hope I am wrong. Mom seemed a bit braver than Dad this morning so I hope he can get past his fear and settle in here.

I have been watching too, Judy, and have yet to see the Os. All I have seen are city machines. I wonder if they will start to build when the city stops for the day.

Hi All! I just reviewed my recordings. From the time Dad arrived this am until 1:45 MDT Once Dad and Mom left not one single sign of either during the entire morning. I did see a Magpie around 8:00am.

Lots of views of the LARGE loader. I hate to think the Ospreys may try to nest elsewhere.

This machine has to be noisy as well as intimidating

***Like the osprey, I'm back. Not much sign of activity at the nest yet, hopefully they will decide they can contend with the noisy equipment working right under the nest. Looking forward to another season of watching the O'. So far I can't get my old computer to co-operate but I haven't given up on it.

Hi Everyone!

I agree with you Judy.....With no work being done on the nest you kind of wonder if they will, it's totally up to them though. Bad timing on the City's work! We'll see. Smile

4:10

Mom is back on the nest. Perched on the log, she watched the front loader go by and didn't even flinch.

Early I noted four yellow vested people checking the area where they are working. I wondered if some one has sent in an official complaint regarding disturbing the nest. They moved the nest last year to avoid the construction work and now they have picked the closest area possible to the nest! I am shaking my head trying to make them go away!

Keep your fingers, toes et al crossed. It looks like they are tearing up the access to the river and moving out! Maybe someone got the word to them and the 4 people I saw earlier inspecting the site made the decision.

Here's hoping Working this late is a good sign
