Late night check in on Mom and egg.....she's fast asleep
windy but dry at least.....I missed being here, wish I could have stopped in but again I had one of
those workdays that just didn't give me a break, but I wanted to sincerely thank you all for all the updates and details from today's events.

What an odd day, just read through the whole day and was feeling quite distraught earlier in the posts, but
more relieved after your post Judy, thank you. Reassurance is good.
I admit I was questioning if that really was Mr. H earlier....their behavior was so weird and not what
we have been used to over the last few seasons. But, I too am hoping that those instincts
will kick in a little stronger and whatever that was observed today, was just a little "blip" in the big picture.

Tomorrow is another day and hopefully things will be back on track.

Good morning, everyone!

Mom is up, circling around the egg and doing a bit of digging in the nest. I didn't see her turn it before settling down, but might have missed that.

And I also hope for a less rainy and more normal day today - and am hoping we'll see a second egg with a more conventional start in a few days.

Mom up again, moved around, seems a bit stiff (not surprising after a night of incubating).

It will be a while before I'm able to listen, but I'm not seeing any evidence she's calling - though I'm quite sure she's hoping Dad will come soon to take a shift.
