I wish we could see into the nest like the SWFEC. We won't see the pip or the eaglet hatching.

Hi Janet,

Welcome to the forum here at Hancock Wildlife Foundation. It is great to have you here and I hope you will post often. I love having another Colorado nest to observe. I have visited Standley
Lake often but only viewed via binoculars. Will be nice to record some of the nest history here.

I know it will be hard to see, but one day the cam was zoomed in more and there was a view that will let us see the eaglets I hope. We will see the egg rolling behaviors and know when they are being
rolled and when the parent is moving nesting materials around too. I think if it is zoomed in we will see some of the feedings as well.

Hi Donna,

I live about less than 30 minutes from the nest, unless it's rush hour and then it's more like an hour an a half. I have been a follower of the SWFEC for a few years and just recently discovered this one in my own back yard. I also discovered the Hancock Wildlife site with the forums this year. My family thought I was nuts when I spent New Year's Eve watching E9 hatch. But now they are all watching it grow.

I wish Westminster had mounted the camera with a better view into the nest. I will have to take this issue to Herb, the mayor. I know nothing can be done this year, but maybe next year they can move the camera to give is a better view.

Janet

Good morning Janet and all who love this eagle pair. It is a bit cooler today and not too windy. Both eagles have been to the nest. They have been perched as much as they have been active in the nest.

waveJanet. I think they are learning about how the camera is placed, how it works in all weather, and how they might like to change it. They will probably made some adjustments. I too live near this nest. You might also like to observe the Fort St Vrain nest. You will see the notes and pictures on the forum in the same area you see the Standley Lake nest. Oh, lol, I know my family really does not understand why I watch the eagles nests either. Here at the Hancock Wildlife forum we keep a record of the nests. It has helped us learn many things that we had not seen so close up before. Glad you are here.

It was another calm day at this nest. The eagles worked on the nest bowl fluffing nesting material more than moving sticks. The sunset is really nice tonight too
