7:54 a.m.: Darn it, my timing was off. Just as I opened the viewing window, I saw something dark, with a tail (an otter? a mink?) swimming past the camera.

(I wish this cam were included in the WildEarth archives, but as far as I can tell it isn't.)

Sue - I had no idea this cam was still running at this time of year. We've seen river otters out there when we go out on the Fraser River Safari boat eagle tours. I don't know if mink swim.

Thanks, Karen! I saw a note over the thumbnail on the main page that the cam was streaming again, so I checked, and sure enough it is! If I had to guess, I'd agree with otter. It swam by so quickly, I barely got a screenshot of it.

5:28 a.m.: I'm seeing lots more activity (schools of small fish and some larger ones) than I was earlier this month.

Someone cleaned off the camera lens. Thank you!

hi sue,
it could very well have been an otter or a mink. both have been spotted on site in the last month.
the summer Chinook are here and more are swimming up daily. you can also see summer steelhead, rainbow trout, and pike minnows
I try to monitor the status of the camera now and again, but in case something happens and I haven't dealt with it please send me an email hamid.seshadri@dfo-mpo.gc.ca
cheers,
Hamid

Welcome, Hamid - and thank you so much for joining and post - and for keeping the cam running well! As Sue said, it is interesting to see what the eagles may be seeing in the river. Thank you!
