NEST ACTIVITY - THURSDAY OCTOBER 8th

Good Morning Eagle Lovers

NEST OBSERVATIONS

4:45 SA and Harriet both in nest tree still. Same spots as when we left them last night.
5:21ish vocals. Both still in nest tree. 5:45 both still in nest tree. 6:00 vocals.
6:15 both still in nest tree.

Not positive but I don't believe that was the Sub Adult in the nest tree on cam this morning. Lots of vocals from Ms Harriet. Also think (hope) that was a mating in the nest earlier. Hmmmm???

Dee posted that was M15. Could it be?

6:20 I arrived at the nest at 6:10. Both Eagles are quiet now.

6:43 Harriet starts the greeting vocal, then they both continue exchanging good mornings.

6:44 SA to the nest. Harriet with soft vocals. 6:46 SA launches back to the attic. 6:48 Both are softly vocalizing

6:52 H to the nest. SA to the nest

7:00 SA launched up to the attic and has now moved out farther. H continues with soft vocals, getting louder

7:18-7:22 SA to nest. Both working in nest. H with soft vocals. H to veranda. SA to attic. H with encouraging vocals

7:35-7:38 Both with alert vocals. SA to veranda area. He to nest. SA move stick. H to porch. SA to attic

8:02 SA flies slow through the pasture through the trees by the pond back out through the trees and lands in right pond tree. it looked like he was going after something. Harriet remains on the porch.

8:20 SA back to upper branch nest tree. H vocal. He keeps turning on the branch.

I was watching the cams earlier and both H and slim were in the nest...Slim looks as big if not bigger than Harriett. He sure is a fit and healthy Eagle!!! What a stud!!!

Well, well, well. I know - that is a deep subject. Just who was at the nest with Harriet this morning? I assumed it was the sub adult (SA/Slim) but the markings are not there. i am reviewing my footage now.

Here is an update from the SWFEC head moderator just an hour ago, posted on the chatroll next to the cams.

Essec09: Good morning. Hope everyone enjoyed seeing the eagles on the nest tree this morning. Hopefully those moments in the nest tree will be more frequent as the days go by. Lots of questions about who Harriet was branch sharing with. Right now - we can only say it wasn't the Sub-Adult she has been seen with the past couple of days. There was no terminal band or dark feathers on the head of this eagle. Is it M15? Could be, but not sure.
