Hi WoodlandBleu, Stim, mjb, IrisEyes, Shrub, Gemini, Karen, Stan, Sunshinecoast and all you beautiful Hastings eagle lovers.

Stan and I went to the old nest at 8:45 pm last night.
Our beautiful ma was sitting at the old nest site.
She was preening.
Ma normally never comes to roost this early in the evening.
She must miss her eaglets.

Ma must have been tired. She fell asleep before it got dark

Pa usually joins her when it is getting quite dark.

Those are great pictures of Ma Annemie! It's good to see.

Steamer, do they know of this thread? There is a lot of influence exerted by HWF so maybe that might help. At any rate glad to hear your news.

8:49pm......Thanks for your continued reports here Stan and Annemie! I love seeing the pictures of Ma..................did you see Pa anywhere? I'm sure they must miss having an actual nest................and of course their 2 eaglets. Let us hope that the situation at the PNE improves. I wonder if OWL could exert some influence here too?

Byebye Hello Carolyn!

Hi Jean and Carolyn thank you for your support. Big hugs

No we did not see pa so far yet. He usually flies in when it is already dark.
Last night we went to the Hastings parking-lot hoping to see ma & pa, but we saw neither.

Carolyn I don't know if the PNE knows or cares about this thread.

Ma and Pa Hastings are certainly staying around their territory. Just tonight Annemie and I saw them both fly over the Sanctuary pond and head to the old nest tree. When we got across the street both were sitting side by side high up the cottonwood tree right above the site of their old original nest.

Announcement

Oh and many thanks to Wildlife Rescue who just showed up at the right time tonight for a regular check on the Canada geese Very Happy. We alerted them on arrival that one was having trouble with its leg. One of the older family of 9 goslings had what appeared to be an injured leg/foot. With a quick trip back to the truck and me with food in hand, then some cage preparation and net{s} ready and some gosling directional help and assistance from Annemie Wink, it is now currently in the safe care of Wildlife Rescue for a check over or possible treatment....many thanks for the perfect timing of a visit WooHooThank You

Hi folks

Stan and I went to check on the Hastings eagles and on the Canada Geese yesterday.
We saw pa and ma around 9.30 pm.
They both flew right over our heads carrying tiny sticks. Puzzled
Ma landed on the new nest tree and pa flew over to the old nest site and landed on his favorite perch, that he always used to sit on while they had their old nest.
What they did with the sticks I don't know as I tried to get Sharon's camera out of the bag.

Ma standing right above the non existing new nest, which I will call nest no.2, doing something, but I could not tell what she was doing.

Then ma looked around the area.
