Just wanted to report all's well at the new Hastings/PNE nest after the serious blow early in the morning. Only a few small branches on the ground and a whole bunch of stuff {feathers} blown out of the nest onto the grass fields below.

After what transpired last year around this time at the old nest across the street after a big wind storm going by today was top on my priorities to make sure all was fine at nest #2.

Got some fine views of the ever growing children in the nest during my walk by Oh My

Hi Shrub, Stim, Karen, Gemini, Larry and all lovers of these eagles.

Thank you Stan for checking on the nest after the storm.
Now we know all is well at Hastings nest.
Thank you Karen, Stim and Shrub for your nice words.
I am looking forward in seeing you soon Shrub.

Yesterday Stan and I did our walk around the lake.
First stop was the eagles nest.
Ma was sitting on a branch right by the nest.

The feeding lasted a good 30 minutes.
Wow, Mom was really taking her time.
Stan went across Hastings St. and from there he could clearly see the 2nd let.
In the mean time I looked under the nest and saw a dead baby crow still intact.
It must have fallen out of the nest.
I also saw a whole seagull-wing on the ground.
When feeding was done ma and one of her lets enjoyed the view for a while.

Then ma flew off and I heard all the animals of the lake piping up.
Ma had landed on her log in the lake.
I don't have a pic. of that today, sorry.
Yes Stim, it is very cool to watch the Hastings eagles in all their activities.
We are very lucky.

Oh yes, one more pic. of the goslings and see how they have grown:

I would think that they are safe now from the eagles.

The wind broke some of the nest tree branches and blew some branches off the nest.
It was not too bad.
On the ground we saw crow blood feathers, pigeon and gull feathers and this:

What a cute small fish. It was totally dried out.

The old nest site was hit way harder
The nest tree lost yet another big branch.

The whole area was full of little branches
