From just before 5 pm - checking the eggs. It looks as if the snow is letting up a bit, though I can still see some flakes.

Mom is not leaving---she picked at Dad's head feathers and is staying put

Mom got her way---here is Dad rising from the nest

The cam blob is gone---just took this one. A very unhappy looking eagle getting covered again.

I remember last year at DNR the same thing happened. Dad came for his shift. Mom climbed out of the deep hole. Dad looked down there at the eggs way down deep. He looked at Mom kinda confused. She pecked him and shoved him out of the way, crawled back down in that deep hole, and told him to go fetch her a fish!

That's when I knew she would hatch them.

Thank you, erika and Lynne - and I do think it will all be OK - but hard to watch, especially for the first time, especially when you don't know how much more snow is coming. They definitely are a great pair - and I'm betting they will have really powerful eaglets! Smile

GM Mary F ,Photofun ,Judy B and all . I hope it's ok to post this. I looked in on Mom PA this morning. Thank goodness the snow has stop. She had her head tucked in and seems to be resting well. This was around 4:34 am. Thank you all for this thread on the Hanover,PA couple . I know I can always check here for updates. Smile
