9:26am..............One bird remaining on the mating tree. I don't know what kind this is..............fairly good size and brownish color.....................I'm not up on my bird names but reminds me of a hawk. Is it the right shape though? Don't think a hawk.



Bird is hopping from branch to branch.......flapping its wings.

8:35am............Off he goes!

HArd to tell Jean..maybe a wood pecker

9:48am.............Panning the area for about 30 minutes now............no signs of any eagles. Welcome back Bev! Happy to see you here and earlier than we thought! All is well here.

I also thought a flicker, which is a woodpecker I think............hard to tell at this distance.

I am off the North cam..........left it aimed at the river.

Jean........OMG! It is soo cold and torrential rain here.....

Egg is alone

Summary of the Harrison Mills Nest for 2014.....

Mom Honeycomb laid the egg April 4, at 8:58pm...
It is important to note that Mom and Dad Honeycomb are a dedicated couple and devoutly incubated the egg from day one.... each taking turns and Mom always stayed at night..


May 15......May 24,.Day 41 to Day 50 for the egg....

It was clear the egg on this nest was non viable,. ..... DAd was taking fish into the nest for Mom..... it was on May 23.. we noticed a difference in parents behaviour........ Mom was incubating the egg for over 23 hours..DAd showed up with food and left...... and also at this time.. the tormenting Blue Jays showed up........

MAy 25.....MAy 31......Day 51 to Day 57 for the egg

Mom and Dad cont. to take turns incubating the egg,.,, but for longer periods of time ..Dad brought food in to Mom.... and we noticed that both parents were bring in bedding and nestorating..... it was on May 31 that Mom left.....

June 1....June 7........DAy 58 to Day 64 for the egg

DAd was on the nest 38 hours .. taking short breaks........... Mom dropped in a few times ... shows no interest in the egg..

June 8 ...June 14.....Day 65 to day 71 for the egg.

Cam was down for 48 hours... when the cam came back on......we were noticing that Dad was taking longer and more frequent breaks off the egg... also Mom and Dad were seen on the nest together.

June 15..June 21..Day 72 to Day 78 for the egg

It was on June 15 that Dad finally left the at 3:58pm.. Mom dropping in from time to time..

June 20,2014........MOm and Dad on the nest at 5:23am for a short visit.......video is posted... it is day 77 for the egg......it is interesting to note that while Mom stood over the egg .. neither her or Dad tried to incubate it....... it is reassuring to know that Mom and Dad are getting on with their lives and checking on their nest...
