We seem to have cardboard or a newspaper added to the nest this morning.

Mom was up to turn the eggs.

8:08 am
Dad arrives for his turn incubating the eggs. Mom immediately flew off.



Camera is freezing a lot this morning.

look in and both ospreys were on the nest, then something caught male ospreys attention and he takes off. intruder ?

female settles down

and he comes back in a bit and keeps watch

seems the cam is buffering a bit

The cardboard has been moved. The wind catches it every once in awhile. Hope it doesn't become a problem.

2:45pm MDT

The cardboard is gone. I don't think it would have been any problem. When it got wet it would disintegrate. If it drifted over the eggs, being rigid, one shove and it would be gone. Not like that plastic that molded and melted over the egg. The thought of that thing still gives me chills.


Repeating myself - watching the O's brood is boring. I did manage to catch a couple of nice wing shots on two nest exchanges.

Dad flies in with a fish which Mom wastes no time accepting.



Mom quickly left with her treasure and Dad prepares to take over brooding

The scene is pretty much exactly as it was this time yesterday. Adult sitting incubating the eggs.
