HI everyone... Ferenz, Gabi and all.............
I watched the March of the Penguins on TV last night..... incredible documentary and i learned so much.... i was fascinated... I had no idea that the Males took over the incubation of the eggs after the Females laid them...
Hi Bev are you sure that only Gentoo penguins male incubate the eggs? Usually both male and female share the incubation. Studies have shown that both took turns in breeding in a rhythm of two days, Martin Grund says !
Gentoo penguins do not march.
I think you mean Emperor penguins which do not have nests

Hi Gabi.... Yes.... You are right.. I had things mixed up ..didn't I ? Please forgive my stupidity...... It is the Emperor Penguins that I watched.... Thank you.... and i hope to learn more about the Gentoo Penguins..... I think i have things straight now....
I love the picture of the chicks...

Thanks, Ferenz and Gabi! I must admit I also know very little about penguins, and didn't realize until quite recently that there were so many types of penguins. When I first watched this cam, I thought Gentoo was where the cam was, not the type of penguins. But I am learning!
