Lake Casitas Eagles
December, 2010, Linda Frazier noticed two immature bald eagles frequenting the lake.
Incubation was observed in February 2012, but after two weeks it appeared they stopped the process...
In 2013, the pair raised two eaglets who successfully fledged.
In 2014, the pair raised one eaglet who successfully fledged.
In 2015, an intruder female (who is now the resident female - K97 who hatched from the West End nest on Catalina Island) ousted the original female and killed the new hatchlings.
In 2016, the new resident female and original male raised two eagles that successfully fledged.
In 2017, one eaglet hatched and at the time of this post, is nearly 10 weeks old and doing well.

Thank you for the photos Diane Hatcher.

This is a picture of the parents taken by Linda Fraizer on December 26, 2010.

2013 fledglings. While Linda was at the lake this morning, she found both of the fledglings in the same tree.
Thank you for the photos Linda.

It is very cloudy at the lake today.
Cathy Snyder visited the lake and heard the eaglets calling
One juvenile flew to and landed in the nest, while the other eaglet was perched on a branch in the nest tree.
Two White-Tailed Kites were occupying the branches on the little tree that both eaglets were perched on yesterday.

Cathy Snyder saw both eaglets on the little tree near the nest tree while at the lake today.
She also got a surprise visit by one of the adults at the ned of the trail where the bench is.
This photo was taken with her phone. Cathy.
