Sorry, I should have explained what I meant by "damaged" (and I could be wrong, of course). The second egg is still intact, but to me the outer shell looks like it could have suffered some cracks.

9:15 p.m.: To add to the woe, rain coming down now. Tears from heaven.

OMG Sorry you had to watch that unfold Annie. I am not sure i want to see the video but please do posted for the ones that have the need to see it. I hope that this last egg is still viable and that the parents do come back and take care of it.. this has been such a sad season for White Rock nest fans.

This is just beyond heart breaking I wish we could see better into the nest to see the other egg. That piece of shell laying next to it worries me for the life of my I don't know why no one was on the eggs this late in the process. On the wide view I see no eagles but it is kinda dark Thank you for the patience to deal with so many emotions

Thank you for posting and for the warning... I'm not sure what I really saw. The eagle who came back after running the sub adult off was mom right?

mollykatesmom, yes, I believe you are correct that it's Ma who returns to the nest. She looks to be in a state of total disorientation, not knowing what to do. Heartbreaking.

Edit: On second viewing, I think I understand your question better. Is it a different eagle who returns immediately after the attack, then leaves, followed by Ma returning?
