I haven't heard another word about the chick. I wish we had a bit more information but there has been nothing posted at the Calgary rehab site, and no response to the emails I sent to the Zoo and Enmax.

Now the second chick has the fish which he managed to get after the magpie was chased away.
Glad to see that both chicks can make a meal out of this one fish.

The chick that finished eating has flown off while the last one on the nest eats.

Has anyone else at times wondered if Mom is one of Dad's offsprings? Her head markings have always looked so similar to his and now her fishing ability matches his, dare I say? Just pure speculation on my part of course.
Hi! Just reviewing some of last evenings posts (have not had time yet to sit down and just watch as it happens)
Mom can not be one of Dad's offspring. All of the Calgary chicks were banded from the time the nest platform was installed - something like 15 years. When this Mom appeared in 2010, to be one of Dad's first generation chicks, she would have had a band. It is certainly possible that she is a grand daughter or great grand or great great - (It's too early in my morning to calculate how many greats are possible.)
The reason I can make the above statement, was we discussed the possibility of the relationship when she first appeared on the scene for the reason of the extreme similarity of the markings. I looked up the last year of banding at that time.
