Just logging in and see how windy it is at the nest/river. I checked Environment Canada just now for Calgary and there's currently a Wind Warning in Effect Winds are: WNW 37 gust 49 km/h
2:07pm - Two chicks on nest with one enjoying his fish near center of nest.

I am not surprised there is a wind warning now. The nest is shaking and the river is really moving -- and not in the direction of the flow!

Yes, from watching things there, it seems the wind is stronger than what's posted on EC website right now.

BET, Thank you for posting the video of Old Crusty going overboard.
I just viewed it and stand corrected that it wasn't the edge of the O's wing that caught it and projected it off the nest as I stated in my post, but does appear as a gust of wind taking it overboard as Terry mentioned in her previous post.
It still causes me to laugh when I see it again...to actually see the fish that everyone refused to eat, suddenly roll off the nest.
Should I go back and add an addendum to my previous post?

The two people u saw walking by pole r police officers chasing a guy. Police and police cars everywhere. The guy tried to come up shore where I sit but police waiting. He swam away and heading to bridge. Spooked chick who fled with fish to next pole. Clinging on with dear life horrendous wind still happening here.
Police car with lights flashing is parked on bike path behindnest. Pics to follow

Wow - I thought it was windy there, but didn't realize how windy! Thanks for the update, luvtheO's!
And I think that's a bit too much excitement, Janet! Thanks for letting us know what's happening.
