Those are wonderful, Sharon! It must be great to be able to watch them flying!

And it's looking to me as if the adult (Mom?) is now eating the big fish from earlier, while one of the two chicks on the nest is carefully hoarding the new fish, even though they all seem to full to actually do any eating just yet. I am glad that Mom is getting some fish - she does look a bit on the skinny side at present.

And I'm out for a while. Out

wave Hello arkyquest! Thanks so much for the photos and description of the neighbourhood. It does indeed sound very urban and it is always good to be reminded of the sort of surroundings our birds are nesting in. (Did you know that one of the HWF eagle nests is smack dab in the middle of a concrete production facility?!)

Birds are surely very adaptable when it comes to living among all the 'clutter' of humans.

I came for the eagles, and stayed for the friends I made

As I turned to go, I realized I was standing almost right underneath Mom! She delivered the fish and then retreated to the north side of the river, but had a great view of the nest (as did I!).

Who's that up there over the path??

Who's that down there under my tree??

Mom was entertaining a visitor in her tree, a magpie dropped by and they exchanged pleasantries:

And then UNpleasantries:

And then Mom headed back to the nest:

That's all for now - I'll try to pop back before "our" family leaves for the winter.

I missed something here... I am wondering if the chick took the fish from Mom and is eating on the left side of the nest or was there two fish on the nest.....
