3:24pm............2 chicks on the nest watching something. Notice the interesting body posture. There has not been as much food brought to the nest today........It is probably time to encourage these ones to start hunting for themselves so we may not see as much food delivery as before.

3;35pm 2 chicks on the nest both on alert over something: now there is a new arrival-- 3rd chick I think.
I sometimes find it hard to tell the young ones from the adults.

no one is eating but I think the chick at 8oclock spot is holding a fish


3:45pm fish fight -- it seemed to me that the others were fighting over the fish 1 stole from the chick at 8oclock. Or it was chick at 8 against 1 of the other 2




3:49pm at the moment it seems 2 are eating 1 is left out over at 3oclock spot.



3:56pm the more I watch the more it seems just 1 is eating -- chick at11oclock spot :confused:

4:34pm not much to report: no one is eating at the moment, chicks are still at 11, 3 and 7oclock spots on the nest.

As far as I know the chick at 11 is the only 1 with a fish. I can't see it at the moment as he has his back to the camera.

4:56pm saw what I'm quite sure was an adult osprey fly past over the water below the nest. chicks stretched their wings at the same time.

chick at 11oclock is now eating

5:05pm eater continues to eat and the others have repositoned a bit nearer to the action.


I am thinking the one chick looks quite submissive despite moving from 5oclock spot over to 9oclock to be closer to the food.

the other moved from 7oclock corner to 3oclock spot .



5:09pm fish fight... I could 'feel' that coming
and the winner: same chick keeps fish (I think)

was AFK approx 8 minutes; return and I think 1 chick is laying down :confused:

Just a quick check in - I skimmed through the couple of hours of recording when I was away. I did not note any more fish delivered so the fish that is the object of contention is the one big one Mom delivered at 1:42pm No wonder the other two are after it. A fish in talon is better than none at the bar!

I will try to check in again later. I do have the recording going, so if there is something particular worth going back and getting the details. Note the time. I'll be happy to review it.
