:hello: Nightowl!
8.05
It has been very calm and quiet, with the normal sounds of the island....crows, gusts of wind. We do not have the Golden Tree as yet. Possibly cloudy there?
ETA:
8.15 There was a fly by. Apparently they have had rain on the island this evening. This would account for less exchanges at the nest tonight.
As Nightowl would say "Goodnight Ma and Pa, wherever you are!"

Good morning Hornby!
Well...it looks to be a rainy day today. Pa landed on the WA about 6:12AM, stayed and preened for a couple of minutes and flew off. Guess Ma wasn't ready to get out of bed yet. I got distracted, so I don't know if there was a switch after that or not. :dunno: Someone is in the nest, and I can barely see a white head, but with it raining, there may not be much activity today.
C'mon Mr. Sunshine, do your stuff!

Howdy do! :hello:
WOW! There's some windy weather on Hornby today! Looks like the sun is trying to peak through now, but there's rain crops on the camera lens. The ocean is full of small white caps and it's just rolling. (dramamine or gravol anyone?) You can hear the wind blowing by and, one of the few times I can remember, the roar of the ocean.

Hang on Ma and Pa!

Nightowl, your picture is like a painting!
OK, we turn back one day. Here is a clip that I've looked at several times. I lightened it a bit and put it in the video, below:
What Does Dad Bring to the Nest?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnk9TuCX4Gw
April 24: around 3:12 PM PDT
Dad arrives with something in his talons. By the action of his wings, it looks like she grabs it from him. Is it prey? Judging by her vocal response, it can't be a wad of grass. Watch Mom after Dad leaves. Is she eating the prey? Setting it aside? Has the first egg pipped, spurring Mom and Dad to fill the larder?
Best to view it in the large player window.

Your video is great Beans.....it sort of looks like she is feeding a chick. I love the sights and sounds of Hornby.
Also, Nightowl, your picture is amazing. I bet you they balance quite well up there, although we would not want to do it.
