Someone on Facebook asked if there was any sign of Phoebe in the yard this week. Mr Pungh replied...
" Not much. Just the occasional visit. Of course I probably miss most visits. No nesting activity though."
So we are still waiting......

Non-update: Still no sign of nesting or mating behaviour. Phoebe still visits occasionally to hunt in the yard. I really worry that they have been disrupted by the endless construction 2 doors down. Power saws and hammering from 8am til dusk for several weeks now and jack hammers before that. I'm still hoping though. I know in the past she would start in early November, but recently it has been October. I will keep you updated.

Will that Phoebe is just having an extended vacation...

Phoebe has begun nest construction. Actually, she's working on TWO nests. For a few days she's been inspecting and landing on last season's nests several times a day. This morning, she zipped in and worked on a nest. Then she zipped in and worked on another. Then the other. She did that a half dozen times before I had to leave. Hopefully, she'll make up her mind soon so I'll know where to put the camera.


I will keep checking for further updates ...

"There are 3 intact nests from last season. Here's a photo I took in January. On Tuesday she was alternating between the top 2 nests in the picture. This morning she was performing repairs on all 3 nests (top 3 in photo). As soon as she picks a mate she should get busy working on one nest."

Yippee!.Thank you for the update Gail.... now we wait for Phoebe to find a suitable mate.. Looks like Love is in the air with three nests.... Wonder if Phoebe is thinking..one for now, one for while the first chicks are getting ready to fledge and one for later... you know Phoebe is very organized....

Phoebe has been busy all day working on a single nest. I have everything ready and will try to get cam up tonight. On a related note... why does it always rain when I want to set up the camera.
