Hi everyone. I'm fairly new to viewing these wonderful creatures and have enjoyed looking at them each day for the past few months. I too, felt a tremendous sense of loss when the next was empty. This is my first post and I am very excited as the anticipation is building to begin a new year with this beautiful family. I want to thank all of you who have made comments and observations since I started viewing last spring. Your knowledge and great sense of humour have been most enjoyable. I look forward to sharing the next several months with you all!

Nice to meet you, mjb! I hope you will continue to post and share your observations with us. If you have any questions about the birds or the forums just ask! Someone will always be around to answer! No queston is ever too 'silly'!!

Cheers!!

Terry

Someone has been to the nest leaving grass in the middle of the nest bowl as it wasn't there yesterday

My opinion when I saw the eagle sleeping on the nest it looked like madam White Rock to me as I documented the pair last November and December 2010 when they were nest building and it looks exactly like ma WR as she is a larger raptor and squaks and trills and gets upset a lot by the crows.

I also noted from the ground observers pictures of the 2011 season that a lot of fully mature and juvenile eagles hang out at the beach below the nest.

Hi everyone,wave

12:08 pm Popped in to the nest and happened upon two crows perched on the right rail, both eating something. One moved to the left branch, still eating, the other jumped into the nest and then up on middle railing where he was joined by the other again who ate on.

12:12 pm One crow took off right, and the other remained until he finished his morsel and flew away a few minutes later.

Mom and Dad mustn't have been close by as I don't think they would allow this, would they? Wink

eta Hi Annie. Thanks for the s'cap, guess we popped in at the same time. Smile

ElJay;
Once you have captured an image (using software of your choice; email me at brianfh01@yahoo.ca if you want a convenient tool and don't have one), use Attachments at the bottom of the comment screen. 3 are allowed per post.

Then, click File on the upper menu, and "File File" surrounded by square brackets will appear and the cursor in between. Enter the number of the attached image you want. Etc.
