Someone is visiting the nest.

Oh - glad I brought up the CU cam. This is not one of our White Rock pair - check out the gray head and tail feathers! I'm taking a lot of pictures - will post a couple here and try to add more as a slideshow tonight.

10:34 - whoa! There really is a subadult bald sitting in the nest. Probably about a 4th year bird, thinking about that...

Thanks for the information on yesterday's visitor, ostrich. :oops: Must admit I didn't stop to think about the fact that lots of other raptor species probably call Boundary Bay home - or at least a promising place for fishing and scrounging this time of year. I saw large bird near an eagle nest - and thought eagle. :oops:

Our current visitor does have white splotches here and there - but not to the extent that yesterday's visitor did.

The young eagle has now moved out onto a branch - I have some pics, but they're on a different computer. Will add a couple later.

10 57am one eagle perched on branch looking around. David Hancock said this intruder in the WR nest is a 4 year old but in its 5th year. CLICK X2 BIGGER

This young eagle looks about like "my" Grace at the bird rehab in Corpus Christi looked when I was there. They told me she was one molt away from her white head. Sorry I don't have any pics of her back. She is, by the way, a B.C. eagle and I look at her beautiful face every time I turn my computer on.
