How the heck do you post a url to a video in the Media Gallery Puzzled

Testing One: mediagallery/media.php?f=0&sort=0&s=20101007183100878

Testing Two: mediagallery/mediaobjects/orig/6/6_dadoctober72010.wmv

One is the url at the top of the page where the video is and it doesn't work Evil

Two opens up the Windows Media Player which I don't want to happen EvilEvil

How the *&^% do you get the url of a video in the Media Gallery Bash computerEvilEvilEvilEvil

That's a really good question, Skipper. I have a hard time watching them from home (fast connection, but not fast enough), so can't give it a fair try. I'll see what other folks can come up with.

Just trying a video link to Skipper's video

mediagallery/media.php?f=0&sort=0&s=20101007183100878

mediagallery/media.php?f=0&sort=0&s=20100925103217975

I can use the "copy link location" for archive videos, but for Skipper's and one of the other new ones I get "You do not have permission to view this page" Your user name and IP have been recorded!!!!!

mediagallery/mediaobjects/orig/6/6_dadoctober72010.wmv

The only way I can get it, is clicking on the link which takes me right into the video.

Thanks, Velma Red Heart

That's what I get as well. :dunno:

Where is the "copy link location" that you mentioned?

I've posted this in the "Forums Error" thread because we need to be able to post a direct link to s'caps and videos that are in the HWF Media Gallery.

Skipper - when you R) click on the video in the Media Gallery, a drop down box has the copy link option as well as save image etc. I'm finding that if I use the link I posted above - my video opens instantly though, and doesn't look like my "regular" WMP format.

Thanks, Velma Red Heart

Here are the options that I get when I right-click on the video

I don't have the options that you do. It probably has something to do with the operating system/browser? Puzzled I have Windows XP and use IE.

When I click on "properties", I get this

Like you, I do have the option of posting the link with the .wmv extension which, as you say, does open up the Windows Media Player and the video plays.

BUT -- if I have anything else playing on my screen, it takes FOREVER for the player to open and the video to play. Evil Evil Evil

It is much better and quicker to have the video play within the Media Gallery itself -- like it used to before the change to this new forum/format Rant:

Can you tell me where you posted it, Skipper?
your first link tells me I don't have permission - and your second opens in WMP

If I sould see where you have posted this I could check the playing instructions - but I can't find it in your album!!
