2018 Nesting Season

Eggs .....Egg #1 seen Dec.31..2017 (Note: several experienced observers who post on other sites said it looked as if the female was getting ready to lay the first egg as the cam went dark on Dec 30 and saw her up and turning the egg as it got light the morning of the 31st - so there may well be almost 4 days between the eggs ~JudyB)

Egg #2 Jan.3 at 5:21 pm

Egg # 3 ..seen Jan .8 at 8:44am ( Note: Good morning, everyone! I just saw on Facebook that there are now 3 eggs, and have asked permission from Elfruler Elf to bring her lovely screenshot here. She first saw them around 8:44 am - and so far no one has reported seeing three yesterday, so it may have been laid overnight, 4 days after #2 and 8 days after #1.

But the other side of that is that I was watching quite a bit yesterday (and the day before) because I sort of wondered if they might lay three - and I don't think I ever got a clear look at the two eggs I know they had either of those days, between the weather and the angle of the cam... .~ Posted by JudyB and added here by Bev/IrishEyes..

Hatched.......Feb. 8 ..Egg#1 .5:07pm( 40days).....Egg # 2 Feb11?late..seen Feb12( 39days ).. as per Judy B's

Eagle Inf. spread sheet.

I'm not going to start a thread here because we are in the process of moving to a brand new forum for the 2018

nesting season - but I was checking some cam links - and discovered that the cam may be live (date is right, time is not - OK is in the central zone so it's about 9:26 am) - and wanted to share this!

And a bonus - here's the other adult!

This pair is one of our early nesters - they've had eggs as early as mid-December, but if I remember correctly, early

January is most common.

Eggs Laid: late December 30 or early December 31;

They are doing the usual "dance" about what stick goes where, with a bit of nipping at each other to reinforce their positions - such fun to watch.

I will mention that I had to try several times to get the cam to open - am guessing that like many organizations with cams, they are having some challenges converting from Adobe Flash to the newer streaming technologies that may be more secure.

Hopefully it will all work out soon.

Added - it should be 10:57 am in Oklahoma, but the time stamp says 00:59 on December 27, 2017 (which is tomorrow) - and the video shows the sun setting - and I'm not sure when that happens, but am pretty sure it's not at 11 am or at 1 am. I'll try to check with the Sutton Center and see if this is semi-real, or if it's replaying video from last season with today's date (or tomorrow's date).

December 26, 11:04 am; one of the adults was there briefly a few minutes ago.

Update from cam page

Last seen on the nest...

1 May 2017: The staff at the refuge thinks the eagle has left the nest, although it is likely still returning once in a while. Local flooding has prevented reaching the area of the nest to work on the video equipment.

I've heard back from the Sutton Center, and this is a live feed, and they need to get their techs to fix the time and date.

The first two pictures are from a little earlier and the third is current - and if this is Mom in the nest, I think she may be looking a little pouffy.

From 4:45 pm central time - I love how the light is making the pictures so sharp.

I didn't get the wings in a good position, but they were mating on the back branch.

5:29 pm
I think there's only one of them perched on the branch in back of the nest.

I see that they've removed the incorrect date/time - wonder if they're fix it or just leave it off. There appears to be a slider on the bottom, but it's not working for me with Firefox and Adobe Flash - may try other browsers when I get a chance.
