12:35pm......Same here at Delta2. No embedded cams but PTZs working fine.

The Lafarge embedded cam is also not streaming, and I checked the WildEarth website and several of their cams are also not streaming.

I checked the WildEarth Facebook page and there aren't any updates since what jkr posted yesterday evening.

Delta 2 West is streaming on UStream - http://www.ustream.tv/hwfdeltaeagles. The signal also comes from WildEarth (or at least they're the ones who set up the site), but it may use a different path; I noticed that they had their SafariLive feed running through YouTube on their site.

Keeping fingers crossed that they'll get this working again soon, and thank you all for your patience, and your reports from the zoomer cams.

I have a tech question about the embedded cams - why do we need Wild Earth? Can we not embed the signals from the cams directly on to the HWF pages ourselves and ALSO send the signals to WE? Would that solve the constant outages?

Adding to Phil's question . . . why, if as JudyB says, Wild Earth streams to Ustream and it's working is it not working directly from the WE site?

Phil - We cannot afford to stream the cams ourselves. In fact the first four companies that streamed us went broke!! Then we found WildEarth (WE) who added ads and were supposed to give us a percentage of the revenue. We only got a small bit one year and nothing since but at least we don't have the expense of the streaming. Way too costly.

Interesting. So we're talking about Eastlink (Delta Cable) here? Have they been approached as a possible sponsor for the feeds? Have we tried other providers?

Phil, this is how Ken explains it.

It doesn't matter if our cameras are through Telus, Shaw or Delta Internet Providers. All camera streams go directly to WildEarth in Africa and the signal is then sent back to our main server in downtown Vancouver to be broadcast back to us. WildEarth is free of charge. Going through anyone else would cost a fortune.

The reason Delta is up at UStream is because that stream is fully controlled by WildEarth, not us.
We are not currently receiving the signal and codes for our website because they are having problems at their end.
