Jean and BET, is it my imagination that this nest location has seemed to bring more problems for our birds than it did when it was at the old location ? Maybe it's because of the increase in osprey population but, IMHO, things seemed more peaceful years ago.

Yes, Judy the nest does seem to be under attack more the past two years but the river has also changed after the flood so it's hard to say.

And you are right about the increased number of osprey. I believe that Enmax now has 19 platforms up in or very near Calgary.

Wow, 19 nest platforms ? That's amazing and that gives JR and MID 18 other nests to go mooch a meal at. They are probably now the strangers at some other osprey nest.

Good night Judy and ty for all your posts and scaps. There was no one on the nest at 8.32 pm, sign of things to come. (Maybe we should meet at Hellgate next year... but I'd want it to be when Iris was there. There is only one Iris after all!)

9.01 pm Nest remains empty and the sun set at 8.29 pm. Tomorrow it will set two minutes earlier and we lose that much in the morning also. Have a good evening and/ or sleep everyone.
