Hi Lori,
I typed out an answer to you and the same thing happened.
Yes, I have it marked to remember me for a month, but sometimes,
like tonight, it won't even remember me for 5 minutes. I get my
posting all typed, hit submit and it comes up "Login Required", so
I Login again, retype my post....hit submit...."Login Required"
Usually the third time I get lucky. I think the same thing was
happening to Kathy the other night and I can't remember who it was,
but someone else said they were having the same problem. It
might have been Gord. Not sure though.
Anyway it gets a little frustrating at times
Hi! I don't have an answer to the log in issue, but it might save a lot of frustration if you typed your reply in a Word document and then copied it over to the forum. At least if it comes up asking you to log in again you haven't lost the post permanently and don't have to retype it.

Oh man Terry I can't count the times I've tried to get everybody to do that but..... either way it needs to be fixed here right?

The best solution I can think of is to clear your cache and then log in again. That way your browser isn't remembering your previous log-in attempts which kept logging you out.
Other than that I really don't know why it's happening. It seems to happen randomly for some unknown reason.

Thanks Judy I'll tell her that but there's still got to be something wonky with the software here :dunno:

2nd ATTEMPT
Hi Terry
I usually do type my postings in "Notebook" then copy & paste them.
The thing is you have to be "Logged-in" in order to even get to the
area where you are going to make a posting.
So I get to that area...copy & paste my posting, hit the submit and
bango posting gone and it's telling me "Login Required". I Login
again...copy & paste my posting, hit the submit...bango...same thing,
"Login Required".
Usually it will go through on the third try, but there has been a time
or two that I've had to do it over a forth time.
Thanks for checking this out.
Rose
ETA this one went through on second try.

It just doesn't make sense to me Rose, once you're in you're in or at least should be! I hope Richard shows up cause he's the one with answers about this software here.

Rose, do you use AOL? I'm thinking there was some funky setting we needed to change for someone who had AOL so they could log in and stay logged in.
Which browser do you use - Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, something else? Do you know what version?
I think the issue with AOL was that it added an extra layer, and it was hard to make the login stick for both layers (that's not the technical explanation - I'd need to find the discussion to get that, and will wait to see if it could be a factor before I look for it).
I know this shouldn't be happening - and think we should be able to solve it. Has it been this way since we moved to the new forum, or did it start recently? If it's recent, it could be something like an update to your security system that doesn't like our cookies.
Which reminds me - do you know which security/antivirus type things do you have?

Hi Judy
No I don't use AOL. I use Eastlink, which is one of the major suppliers of cable and
internet service here in Nova Scotia.
I also use their security service which is called "F-Secure". I use (Vista) Internet Explorer
and I believe I updated to version 8. But that was quite awhile ago. I only started having
this problem approximately 2 weeks ago. The same thing is happening when I go to send
a Private Message as well as posting on any of the forums. The other weird thing is that it
doesn't happen everyday. Some days are good & some days are not. The only thing
different that I have done is changed to using a Laptop when my PC broke down, but that
was over a month ago.
Hope these answers help. Thanks a bunch for checking into this for me.
Rose
ETA...This might be a good day, this went through first try.
