Doreen did you go into Account Settings at the top?

If you do click on the Username and Password tab and make sure it says 1 month...after the "Remember me for" line

try that and see

Hi Doreen and Lori wave Doreen, I generally check the forum from work during the day, then again when I get home at night - and I've found I need to log in again every time I change computers. Richard did fix that once, and I think we need him to do it again when he gets a free moment. Do you watch from more than one computer?

The other possibility is if you disconnect from the internet when you're not actually online, when you sign in again, your internet provider may assign you a different IP address - which would react the same way. I have DSL and don't usually turn off my computer, so keep the same address until I turn off the computer or disconnect from the internet - but I don't do either that often.

Hi Judy, :hello:

I don't think Doreen has seen my note or yours yet but for me it's a mute point for me cause I do a thorough clean up every night before shutting down so it can't remember me if it wants to. I just log in everyday, no biggy. I'll post a note to her on Sidney Titter

hi Judy and Lori, well i have tried all of the above and more, but yes i do use a laptop at night, besides this one, but didn't have to logon on any of them every day before, so that's the only reason i brought this up, thought there might be a remedy but see theres not so no big deal like you said Lori, i'll just sign in if i want to reply to anything. but thank you for any help you tried, certainly appreciate the effort Left thumb up

Thanks for the reminder, Doreen - I knew there was something else I meant to ask Richard. I think there's a setting he can tweak that should help - I also need to log in any time I change computers. (Unless the new version doesn't have the setting.)

Thanks for the heart, PEB!

In terms of logging in, Richard says with the new security features, you should need to log in if you change computers - it can only remember one set of information, so if you're on another computer the information won't match. Unfortunately, even if you're on the same computer, if your internet provider assigns you a new IP address every time you connect to the internet, that will look like a different computer, so you may need to log in again. Richard has relaxed the rules a bit so if the IP address is in the same group, it should work - but some providers may mix and match IP addresses from more than one group when they assign them.

Not sure that clarifies it a lot - but the bottom line is that there doesn't seem to be anything more he can do at the moment.

I see this discusssion is still going and here's a post from Rose (bornin55) just now she's having a heck of a time with each post

Hi Lori,
I typed out an answer to you and the same thing happened.
Yes, I have it marked to remember me for a month, but sometimes,
like tonight, it won't even remember me for 5 minutes. I get my
posting all typed, hit submit and it comes up "Login Required", so
I Login again, retype my post....hit submit...."Login Required"
Usually the third time I get lucky. I think the same thing was
happening to Kathy the other night and I can't remember who it was,
but someone else said they were having the same problem. It
might have been Gord. Not sure though.
Anyway it gets a little frustrating at times
