They are leaving for the day - a long one. Still some debris left so they will probably be back in the am

7:45pm Mom returned - a brief three minutes - checked out the area where the equipment had been and then left.

I do like this nest, are the ruffians gone?
We will rebuild if quiet can be the norm.

We don't mind the heffalumps, or the zebras, or the monkeys too,
but the rumble of those things is just too much,
don't you think so too?

I'll check in the morning, and if all looks good,
we can start to work to make things just right,
quick as you can blink your eyes.

Which is why I am called Supermom!

Good morning One and All.

BET, I was relieved to see your pictures of Mom's return to the nest yesterday. I have to admit I am worried they won't nest here.

6:40 a.m.
Mom and Dad arrived in unison this morning. That was a surprise.

Dad (nearest camera) is watching and warning something unseen. So happy to see they are defending their territory .... but I do wish one of them would bring in a stick or two to let us know they are staying here.

Mating takes place and all I could see of Dad was his talons in Mom's back. Wink As soon as he was done he was gone.

Mom left the nest, and we once again have an empty nest.

If anyone is going to the zoo area this weekend could you please take a look at the hydro tower to see if the O's are trying to build a nest there again this year ?

6:52 a.m.
The first city worker arrived on foot, checked the berm area and left again. About 5 minutes later two workers arrived and one appeared to be giving the other instructions. It looks to be raining quite hard so maybe they will cancel today, one can only wish.

Two workers arrive and then a loader arrives carrying the same type of debris that they were removing yesterday. Puzzled

The guy in the loader got out and now three of them are working around that tarp and smoothing it out to cover more area and then laying long tubes around the perimeter like a damn system. Obviously, they aren't done in this area yet.

Neither Mom or Dad have come back to the nest.

This is as close as I can make out of which area is being worked on..... That is if I have the nest in the proper location. I'm sure the Calgary ladies and Ernie can correct me if I'm out by a mile. Grin

The workers are doing a lot of sweeping/raking on the path and trail they made to the river. They may be cleaning up a bit for the long weekend ahead. If they are out of here for the next 3 days that may be a good thing so that the O's have a chance to settle in, if they are going to. I really hate feeling skeptical about this nest being used but we haven't had any real indication that it will be. Come on Mom and Dad -- please, please, please bring at least one stick. fingers crossed My feeling is, if they are mating already they have to be building somewhere at the same time.... but where ?!!!

I went to get a coffee and came back to see Mom perched on the big branch. I am surprised neither her or Dad have tried to move it out of there.
The rain is turning to snow from the looks of it.

...I'm out for a lot of errands I have to run before work. Byebye I also have company for the entire weekend so not too sure I'll be able to find any time to watch the cam.
