Thank you Ernie.
We are now under a State of Emergency in our area but so far we're fine. Hopefully the fires don't increase in size today. fingers crossed They did evacuate 174 properties on the west side of Moyie Lake last night (which is south of Cranbrook) and another 40 were evacuated at the St. Mary's Reserve north of Cranbrook. Lots of evacuation alerts still in effect but no further evacuation notices given out so far today. Hoping it stays that way. http://www.summit107.com/news/east-koot ... ele-moyie/

A gray squirrel visited the nest but I didn't get a picture of it.

I'd say if SR is in the area then she has likely had breakfast in a tree somewhere, otherwise she would be on the nest begging for food by now.

.. I have to get some work done around my house. BBL

I've left the cam up and checking occasionally while I'm working but have not seen anyone on the nest.

There has been no sign of osprey at all yet today. Sad The last visitor was Dad last night when he brought home a small branch.

As luck would have it, the camera has been streaming fine which hasn't been the case when the birds are around. Whistling

1:00 p.m.
No birds

..... I am out. BBL

BET, I'm happy that you caught SR on the nest. I was beginning to think everyone left home.

It's 3:46 p.m. and the nest is empty.

... I am going to have a nap. The heat and all of the smoke in the air is giving me a headache today.

Nobody home.

I'm glad you are able to get some video today BET because I don't think any of us would want to sit here hour after hour staring at an empty nest the entire day.

7:08 p.m.
Nothing to report. Maybe SR's visit today was her last one.
No sign of Dad or Mom either.

BET, how is your kitty adjusting to his new home ? Has he got you trained yet ? Grin

7:58 pm
A flash of wings at the very top of the camera but no one came into view. Maybe Dad or someone had been sitting on the camera pole and flew off.

8:09 p.m.
I'm out for the night. Good night

Late night post: My husband and I both visited the nest and waved at the camera this afternoon - (4:03 MDT if anyone was recording - me in the green cap/maroon t-shirt and my husband is a "tablecloth-like" red and white checkered shirt.Titter ) We hung around for about half an hour waiting for some activity on the nest. There was none while we were there - but we definitely watched 3 osprey - soaring quite high in the sky just northeast of the nest. They didn't make an attempt to catch fish while we were there. Even if close I wouldn't be able to identify them - hopeful that they were from this nest but don't even know that for sure. The river looks low, it was really hot, and the skies are very smokey. I'm not as experienced as you, but an early migration might not be surprising.
