Happy New (Eagle) Year!

Our eagles in British Columbia generally leave for the salmon runs up north in August, and start drifting back towards their nests in late September or early October, so we consider September 1st the start of the new nesting season (though I know the Florida eagles didn't wait until then to return).

And thinking of the year ahead, I'm reminded that it costs about $800 a month for the servers and internet connections that let us have this wonderful website and forum.

It's easy to sign up with CanadaHelps - read more here (the screens have changed a bit, but the "monthly" link is still right there) - or just click the button below:

I am thrilled that we have a place where people can share pictures like this one from Harrison Mills:

The EnMax stream has stalled continually so far this morning. I restart it - go do one on my chores and return to find it stalled. All I have seen is an empty nest until these two house keepers came to work

And Hi! Ernie. Good to hear from you. I will agree with you, the kitties color does look like Marmalade as well as Mac and Cheese. Since I do not like Marmalade, the word never entered my head as a name.

I am still not sure on the name, but it will settle soon

Hello all.Byebye

I'm seeing only the empty nest too plus a magpie Bet but I came on late and am watching our Canadian play in the big arena once more. Smile

I'm happy that Sr is finally finding her wings so expect that an empty nest is our norm from now on.

1.36 pm No sign of anyone Bet. Hope kitty has settled in well. Dear cat

I keep expecting Mom to come some late afternoon and say her good-bye to nest and town. Maybe the good weather and fishing supply as well as Sr's slow progress will keep her here another week.

Hi Bet and thanks for your scap.

No idea either as I was posting and I saw her at 2.09pm when I looked in. Great to see her looking so grown-up and busy preening her somewhat ruffled feathers. She is a big beautiful young osprey.Wub

She is back but again, I do not know when she arrived. The stream has crashed 3 times in the last 20 minutes.
