Good morning and thanks for starting our day Judy. Sorry no one showed for you this morning but you left before the sun rose at 6.45 am. Smile

Sr was holding a partially eaten fish mid-nest and facing the trees, swiveling her head back and forth when I looked in at 7.19 am. She finally pecked at it twice before hopping onto the nw rail flaring her wings as she did so at 7.32 am. Five minutes later and a hop into the nest further east with the fish hidden beneath her Sr continued nervously watching the zoo area before making a quick getaway flying down over the river at 7.39 am.

In less than a half a minute Dad landed with a curved branch and placed it near the east rail before pecking futilely at the plastic and flying out towards the zoo two minutes later.

9.20 am Nest remains empty. I have seen only one magpie touch down for about half a minute at 8.23 am. Signs of things to come. Byebye

Looking in again at 10.41 am I find Dad on the nest and a magpie alights but departs quickly when Dad flares his wings. After moving a branch and watching the zoo area off Dad flies.

It is hazy so far today so hasn't warmed up too much yet.Smile
Eta. Would you believe 15 C at 11.00 am? Nest is still empty.

Well what has become standard - continual shut down of the stream - at least once to twice an hour has occurred all morning. My video has shown nothing but an empty nest. Dad's visit that Jean got to see was in one of the "blacked out" periods so I don't even have that image to post. I am only checking my computer about once an hour.

It just stopped again while I am typing this.

Bet if it makes you feel any better I think the nest has been empty almost all morning. Maybe Judy is right and the youngest two have gone. Puzzled It is about the time of year that Mom departs. I hope no one is in a hurry this year with those wicked storms on one coast and a drought on the other side of the country.

SURPRISE!!!! I actually have the recording of Senior flying in with a whole fish. I presume, since it's whole, she caught it herself.

The stream froze after she had been there eating for a few minutes. It has frozen again as I type.

Anyway, here is Sr. with her fish

Awesome entry scap Bet, so glad that you were here. Sr really dug into that yummy fish.Fish I guess her hunger overcame her nervousness. She must have seen Dad get injured a month ago.
