JR returned.

I was just noticing that SR has a much longer tail with more white tips than what JR has.
The two of them are watching and waiting for any sign of breakfast.

I was going to mention the other day when I had been to the nest that I knew before hand that the railroad bridge was close to the west end of the zoo but when you are there it is shocking to see how close it actually is to the nest. I wonder if the birds use it for a perch at times ?

Good morning Calgary and thank you for your posts this morning, Judy. Yes the CPR owns a lot of land in the area and the bridge is really close.

I sure wish we could convince Enmax to lower the camera to give us a better view as it would help us see the O's better too. I tuned at 8.20 am just in time to see both on the nest looking west and the one mid-nest flapped her wings, flew right and returned in the next few minutes. Then both flew right and the nest remained empty at 8.32 am.

Enjoy your granddaughter Judy. They grow up much too fast!

Wow. I just saw the magpies take over the nest with one of our juvies sitting in the sw corner unmoving as they entered one by one at 8.55-56. Our O sat still as the magpies hopped all over the nest pecking at leftovers. 5 had flown in by 8.58 am. Oh My

Belatedly our youngster tried to scatter the magpies but they weren't leaving so won out and our Osprey flew off. Yet another entered and then there were 6. By 9.02 three had flown off and a minute later all were gone.

The nest remained empty at 9 20 - 22.
Regarding the new computer my grandson is also recommending I switch to an i- phone and Mac so I am considering it. Thanks for your input Judy. Thank You

It is overcast today and we could use a good downpour but I'm not sure that is in the cards. I sure hope that Dad is still okay. fingers crossed
