Ernie, I' glad that was you and Shelia!

I copied your pictures and I am posting them for you.

How you add photos to your post is weird.

You click on the tab in the ]top of the entry area that says File. It looks like this file][/file You enter the number 1,2, or 3 between the backwards brackets. The number will show the jpg photo that you post in the Browse tab at the bottom of this page.

You can select the order they appear in just by the number you place in the brackets. ie. If you changed your mind and wanted the third item in the Browse tab to be first - then you just enter the 3 in the first

I hope this makes sense.

Looks like I missed all the excitement after I signed off this morning.
So happy to know that Mom finally laid that egg that I was sort of expecting this morning. BET and JD thanks for your report of the occasion.

I missed seeing your visit the nest too Ernie but I'm loving your photos. If you want a bit of extra tutorial for posting pictures Pat B has an excellent thread set up here : forum/viewtopic.php?showtopic=6#6

JD enjoy your birding holiday. Sounds like a lot of fun. I doubt if much will be happening around here for a few weeks now that we're on the long stretch waiting for hatching. I'm sure Mom and Dad know exactly what to do whether we're watching or not. Grin

6:37 p.m.
It's looking very windy at the nest. I see the forecast calls for gusts at 41km/h but it seems to be stronger than that at the moment.
Dad quickly checks the eggs and changes direction in the bowl

Mom has arrived but it takes Dad a moment to decide to leave her to the eggs. He leaves and she prepares to set.

I missed a couple of good captures of Dad making a quick return and hovering in the wind.

6:42 p.m.
A sudden downpour !
That was wise of Mom to come home to get her larger body covering the eggs before the deluge began.

Great coverage here everyone thank you. I'm glad you made it to the nest Ernie...it was windy by the river as I was further west at the pump house so felt it too.Wind to fly a kite I hated to rush off without thanking you properly Bet. That was so exciting to watch and from Mom's behaviour I knew she had to have laid that egg but needed a better look to confirm.

You saw the pre-labour action Judy....thanks for putting me on to it and for the great scaps this evening. I tuned in just in time to see Mom holding tight in that sudden squall that came up. Now the sun is out once more...it's that kind of day.Nodding yes

8.34 pm Dad brings in a short branch, then rubs against Mom's shoulder and she leaves, showing us her 3 lovely eggs again.

Dad covers them and stays until Mom's return at 9.25 pm. The picture is a grainy b&w now but Mom seems wide awake. Wub It was a super Sunday, now we watch the paint drying until the wee ones pop out.Egg hatch
