Middy appeared to have spotted something riverside and flew off that direction. Sr. stayed.

Sr. stayed until 6:58 and then she was off toward the river and then the nest was empty again.

Good morning. It was 6 C at 7.22 this morning but nice and sunny for the Eclipse. Thanks for your morning posts Judy and the Eclipse link. Many stations will no doubt show the totality which apparently is a life changing event. Smile Have fun with your granddaughter.

I'm glad that you saw Jr. get a fish last night as she missed out when a live dark one was delivered at 7.36 am. Fish I saw the blur of an adults wings as they left with a live dark fish that was grabbed by Sr. and then taken off the nest and Jr got nothing. He complained loudly as he hopped about the nest and pulled at the garbage bag at 7.45 am.

It was strange to see the lack of fish yesterday following hard on the heels of Saturday's bounty. I'm sorry I wasn't here to help out Bet. You posted wonderful images of some strange events. Hopefully these strangers will stay away today.

At 8.15 am Jr was waiting mid-nest with a sibling peering over the river railing. Jr flew off five minutes later and the other youngster stayed looking down until 8.43 am when he suddenly flew down over the river. Byebye

9.57 am Looking in again I see Middy land in the empty nest near the river rail. She preened a bit in the sunny 16C breezy weathe and the cam stopped at 10.05. I got it back a minute later in time to see Middy fly off at 10.08 after another bird flew over the nest from right to left. Dunno

10.27 am The nest is empty save some new branches placed over the garbage bag. My cam stopped again.

11:31 am
Mom returned. I'm not sure if she brought home a branch but she began moving one shortly after landing

Working around the nest again.
The eclipse doesn't seem to be having any visible affect on her but she is sticking close to home.

She's still home.

11:47 am
She flew off.

I must say it did get quite a bit darker here in Cranbrook than it did in Calgary.

... I am out again. We are off to the Dairy Queen for a treat. Byebye
