No O's yet but I see that the arborists are busy doing a clean up along the trail this morning.

I have had the video stream running all day since the cam started. So far the only activity I've seen is this little sparrow the last couple of mornings Granted. I do not watch it all day.

Louis has returned to the Missoula, Montana nest. Can our ospreys be far behind?

Friday April 7th

Some type of work is being done today. Rectangular blocks laid along the trail and off to the side, as seen under the nest, and a long black tarp spread out to the river edge. I wasn't watching when the truck arrived but with those blocks laid down it may be for some piece of extra heavy equipment to drive over.
I hope this is not some project that is planning to be spread over the days ahead. I don't think the osprey would be too comfortable with something going on so close to their nest.


Not long afterwards a dump truck arrived to dump sand over the tarp. On a closer look I now realize that this is not the first load dumped there today.


Now that I have checked the City of Calgary website I have learned that this is planned riverbank stabilization work being done.

Thank you for the link, Judy. I hope it does not cause a problem as the work is supposed to take until the end of April.

He's back (or a friend) and the camera lens is clear

Monday April 10 9:20 MDT

Cam Camera states 10:29am which is an hour fast

I logged on and this Osprey was on the nest. Only there for a minute or two - just time to catch the image. No frontal view to ID
