Congratulations on the 1st egg of the season Mom and Dad!

Well of course I missed Mom laying the egg as I went to bake cookies and prepare supper etc. So I just came in at 8.00 on time to see Dad arrive with more bark which he dragged over Mom.

Did you catch the egg laying on tape uBet? Otherwise we may not have an exact time when it was laid. Anyone?

8 41 Egg turning and more bark biting. ...happy days....lol.Grin

Mom arrived at 9:05 after giving Dad an hour with his eggs and bark. Dad jumped on her back 2x before leaving and Mom rolled the egg and worked the bowl before settling on her egg at 9:09 pm. The rain seems to have let up for awhile with more snow expected over night. Snow Happy springtime everybody!

Yes Jean, I do have the video of the delivery saved.

If you look at the times on the first two images in the post where I announced the delivery. The first image is at 17:43:53 and is the time of the last frame possibly delivering the egg The second image 17:43:56 is the very next frame (EnMax cam transmission is not the best) and is just after the egg was delivered and she changed her posture a wee bit so a glimpse of the egg showed. Judging from her posture, hunched over tail down, that might have been the actual arrival of the egg.

The third image was when she finally stood up and moved over so Dad could see his egg. 17:14:12

I'm out for the night Good night

Congratulations Mom and Dad ! BET thanks for catching it and JD for your reports today.
According to our records this egg came one day earlier than last year and looking back even further it shows that they are being laid earlier every year. I wonder if this coincides with global warming ?

Good morning Calgary.... but not a good morning by the looks of the weather --- SNOW !

7:09 a.m.
Dad is incubating already this morning and we know from the past that he always appears to be so happy when he gets to do this. I hope he brought Mom a fish before he took over for her.

7:31 a.m.
He has changed direction and as usual he likes to poke around in whatever sticks and nesting he can reach. He never sits still for long.

8:06 a.m
We have to give Dad credit, he has remained on the egg and not once has he attempted to shake the snow off his back and from the looks of it it may be quite wet and heavy.
