January 31, 2017

it was a warm sunny day today. The winds were stronger in the late afternoon.

7:16am to 10:52am The eagles were at the nest. They were very busy moving sticks from one part of the fence to another. There were about 5 stick deliveries but I surely could have missed a few. Mom spent much of her time perched on the front perch. She was busy preening and watching a very busy mate at work. The both were intent on tugging several sticks from the fence and moving them. Dad worked on one stick for about 5 minutes before he tugged it free.

Judith Miller did this wonderful collage of some of the morning activity. This was posted on facebook.

This is egg laying month for this pair. I believe they lay before the Fort St Vrain eagles do. Fort St Vrain eagles lay between 2/14 and 2/20. Last year they had 3 eaglets and all fledged.

8:30am to 11:51am Both were at the nest. They were in and out and moving many sticks as well as bring them into the nest.
