Hi, all! A nightly peek at the nest finds Liberty on incubation duty, resting off and on as she listens to the geese vocalizing to one another as well as deer and raccoons (presumably) passing by down on the ground. She rolled the eggs at around 12:20 AM (ET), resumed incubating until an hour or so later (about 1:30 AM), at which point she stretched her wings and took care of a quick ps before resettling herself down over the bole to incubate.

Hi, all! It looks like March is off to a very stormy start at the nest. Dad was on incubation duty earlier, but Mom took over at about 11:00 PM (ET), and has been on the nest since, trying to rest as well as she can in such inclement conditions. (I have to say, looking at the screen capture from yesterday evening, Liberty may well be the prettiest Mumbrella I've ever seen!)

She's really hunkered down on the nest, the wind is shaking the tree pretty often and the geese are honking their anxiety to any creature willing to listen, lol. The rest of the day looks to be stormy at times and windy, as well - seems to be a lot of that going on all over the country today. Unfortunately, there was a smudge on the lens of the camera from the rain and wind, but given that it's been showering even as I've been typing, the issue has already resolved itself before my eyes!

2:20 AM (ET): Liberty quickly rose to her feet, rolled the eggs, and then settled right back down, digging her beak into the nesting material for grip as a strong gust of wind blew through the area. It was all too fast for me to get a good screen capture of the eggs before she resumed incubating. I'm incredibly impressed, though! Well done and hang in there, Mom!

Good night & SED Liberty, Freedom, Egg 1, Egg 2, and all who watch and love this nest. hug
