And, it took off and flew around the area a bit...

These are my favorite shots of the sub adult landing on the tree on Liberty's Island...
Love the mottling underneath & the wing positions!

Thanks for your pictures, Terri. I fixed one of your previous posts so that both photos would show. You had a typo in the 'file' tag info.

Thank you for doing that Karen!!!

So, we had more action on Monday and Tuesday mornings at the TB nest area!

On Monday morning, I spotted Liberty on the Family Tree when I arrived around 9:00am. She looked so lovely up there against the snow covered foothills in the background...

I noticed her looking toward Bluff Branch so I looked in that direction and spotted a young eagle flying in the direction of Bluff Branch. By the time I got over there, Liberty was on Bluff Branch and the young eagle was perched above her in a different tree...

Well, it's official gang!!! We have the first sighting of pair bonding/mating on the Christmas Tree this season!!!
We are a little over a month away from egg laying, so this is typical for this time of year to see this behavior between our lovebirds Liberty & Spirit!

Sue was down there around 9:00 am this morning and saw Liberty on the xmas tree, and then Spirit flew in around 9:15 and joined his mate! They began trilling to each other and then Spirit mounted Liberty and the pair bonding/mating began!
