The Forum Has Moved!

It has been wonderful getting to know Spirit a bit better since this is only his 3rd season with Miss Liberty! She sure knows how to pick 'em!

To see Spirit in the tree with the cam makes me wish it were as simple as just turning it back on.

The funny thing is that if Eagle Island wasn't under water from the huge releases from Shasta Dam this past month, we might have been able to do just that!

We are going to give that a shot this week, but with one of the boxes that contains 2 converter boxes in it being completely submerged for over a month now, we will be shocked if those electronics are still in working order!

But, you never know until you try!!!

Now, we are almost a month past Liberty's normal egg laying time too?!? So, can you check with David and see if he thinks that might be too far past Liberty's cycle for developing eggs? They have certainly been mating enough to fertilize any egg(s) that she might have, but we really aren't seeing any incubating to this point? Is a 2nd clutch still a possibility at this point?

At this point, we are almost on the B.C. schedule of egg laying, and it gets very HOT here in July when the eaglets would still be up in that nest!!!

We are just so happy to have them both back & healthy & surviving a very tough year down here! They are having to go much farther for their food source since the river is still too murky for good fishing and the current is moving way too fast for waterfowl!

Love is certainly in the air!

Spirit brought in a few sticks and did a lot of work in the nest bowl this morning!

The pair mated on a branch not far from the nest tree, and then Liberty flew off and Spirit followed her. She ended up on Dead Tree and he brought in another stick to the nest!
