The Forum Has Moved!

Yesterday we were experiencing very high winds at times up to 90 mph gusts. We have been without power for 26hours. It has just been restored. I will resume posting again in the morning.

The eagles have not visited the nest yet today. There have been gunshots this morning too.

I did not see the eagles today.

We had an interesting morning at the nest when dad came to the nest with fish and a juvie close behind. Lots of vocals and mantling. The juvie made a try for the fish but Dad kept it. I have a few pictures that I will post after dinner. Later a hawk landed on the nest. In the late afternoon both eagles were on the nest for about 40 minutes. They were quiet and watchful for almost forty minutes. They really did not move around the nest for all that time.

10:07am Dad has food and is eating.




10:08am Another must be around as Dad is mantling the food which turns out to be the first fish I have seen on the nest this season. He is calling loudly. One of the observers later sees a juvie try to snatch the food unsuccessfully.

10:18am Dad is not mantling the food now but is still letting the intruder know that the food is his.


10:24am The vocals continue.


My computer was acting up I could hear a skirmish when the juvie attempted to steal the food. It must have moved on as Dad was not as alarmed when I could see what was happening again.

Dad eats the fish and goes up above the nest on the branch. He is off at 10:41am

3:28pm I find the eagles on the nest. They quietly stand in the same place until 4:10 when mom leaves over the right side of the nest. Dad follows her.

3:36pm The wind blows their feathers.


Good to see both of them since they have not been to the nest the last few days.

8:00am to 9:51am I have not seen the eagles when I have checked.

December 30, 2016

7:40am to 8:37am No eagles on the nest.
9:28am Eagle is on the nest with a prairie dog to eat. Eats and watches until 9:52am when it flies off with the food.



9:29am Moves the food to top left.
