It is warming up with plenty of sunshine today. The eaglets have been alone on the nest since the wee hours of the morning. They have snuggled at center nest.

10:06am One of the eaglets is close to the bottom of the nest. It is preening and looking about.





10:08am Both parents arrive. Dad begins to feed them at the top left.

Happy May Day!!



9:03am to 9:06am E34 and E35 are settled near the bottom of the nest. They are preening. They have really grown in the last week. They are in their fourth week now.

4:44pm Mom has food at the bottom of the nest. It is a prairie dog. She has blood stains on her tail feathers. Hopefully it is from the prey. She feeds the eaglets.

5:45pm Dad is on the nest with the eaglets.


I am concerned about Mom as the left wing that was injured earlier this year is very wet. I will be watching to see how she is doing as the evening moves along.

6:26pm The eaglets are alone on the nest and nap near the bottom of the nest.

7:29pm Mom delivers a small rabbit. She strongly pulls on the prey and defurs it. She does not seem to be bothered by her wing as she prepares to feed the eaglets. The eaglets are so full they are
not very interested. However by 7:38 they are eating some. E35 gets a huge piece and gulps it down. I really don't know how E35 could fit any more in that crop.



Still some blood stains on Mom's tail feathers.


Mom flies up above and the lets are alone again.


It looks like the blood was from the prey but will keep watching Mom for awhile.

8:10pm Mom is on the nest for the night. Good night to all who follow this nest.

I have been in and out often today. I have only seen the eaglets. There was a ground observer at the nest today who saw mom and dad flying around.
That is good news as we know Mom is flying. She did stay on the nest all night with the eaglets.

Mom and Dad arrived on the nest in the late afternoon. Mom still has dried blood on her tail feathers. The eaglets were fed. Mom stayed on the nest for awhile digging and moving
sticks.

8:10pm The eaglets are settled at center nest. Mom has not come to the nest yet. She seems to be flying fine. Still really have no real answer for what happened, but it is good
to see her acting normal.

The eaglets are alone on the nest. They are down but seem to be amusing themselves by moving small sticks and nesting material.

Hard to believe they are 5 weeks old now.
