Thanks for posting your hubby's pics, Dianne. I've never seen cormorants in that spot.

Only the South cam is able to show this point. The cormorants often are standing on the rocks with their wings out wide. It's their favorite spot.

March 20 2017 (posted to the wrong forum previously - Thanks Karen!)

This is a link to a video of a sequence of photos which shows two adult eagles.

As I saw one fly slowly past the nest, a 2nd adult suddenly appeared and aimed straight for the other in chase. They both briefly came together in the air and there was a brief connection, the the persuit continued.

This took place in between the current nest tree and the closest tree to the north of it

Unfortunately, I had to look up with my own eyes for a second when I saw that 1 eagle turned upside down & both eagles locked talons for a just a brief moment.

In the fraction of a second it took me to resume taking photo’s, the eagle on the bottom of the tussle was already uprighting itself, and then began chasing the aggressor, they turned really quickly and headed off in the opposite direction (East) passing in front of the nest tree along the water line.

Thank You Heather for your Video Camera's and observations. I wonder if that was Dad and that is how he got hurt? Intruders talons struck and punctured his head! Sad
