Mom was up again - she dug in the nest a bit and may have nudged the egg - I didn't see her actually roll it, but may have missed that.

She had a little trouble with her left wing - it kept hitting the tree trunk as she was trying to fold it back in..

Interesting behavior re the egg being left uncovered. Actually Delta 2 has done a great job of incubating right from the start this year.

It is out at White Rock last week, when Pa was injured in a scuffle with an intruder, that he wouldn't come into the nest to take his turn on the eggs. Therefore Ma was forced out of the nest to get her own food and the eggs were left uncovered for long periods off and on throughout the day. When Pa finally did come back to the nest he would only sit on the eggs for 10 - 15 minutes or so and fly off leaving them exposed. So bizarre. We began to think he was not our 'Pa White Rock'. However he was identified by a speck in his right eye. Once he got the blood off his head he came back and started acting more normally but there were a few iffy days that had us quite concerned.

So it will be interesting to see what happens here and there this year.

Hi Karen - it will be interesting! The behaviour on each of the nests does seem to be a little different this season [for whatever reasons].

Things seem to have settled down here a bit today - both Bev and Judy noted that the eagles are behaving 'more normally' - at least that was my impression.

Interesting times ....

Mom was just up to roll the egg and do a bit of digging in the nest.

2:02pm A crop drop - then another. Mom got up to dig in the nest and she gave the egg a small roll...

Nice to know Mom has food in her crop ...Smile
