Are the eagles that are starting to appear from the golf coarse area who usually have nests here or are they just stopping off on the flats because of the salmon carcasses? Guess no way to know about Ma and Pa until they come to the nest.

Hi Marianne.....maybe this will help
The Honeycombs and all the eagles from this area head north towards northern BC and Alaska ... they will stay around the coast and rivers where salmon starts to spawn..... as soon as the spawning occurs father south the eagles will follow those fish so they can feed of them............ the eagles will arrive back here at Harrison Mills..sometime around late September into October.......
The Harrison Mills area where the Honeycombs nest..... is noted for its abundance of spawning fish from late October into December........ and what is so breathtaking is that thousands of eagles from all over have been seen during this time...and they usually stay around until the fish are gone ,they will then move on to their own territories and nesting areas.
And the only we will know for sure that Mom and Dad Honeycomb are home is when they come to the nest .....Mom Honeycomb has a leg band on her right leg and she has a missing tail feather and Dad Honeycomb If he comes back has a black tail stripe .If Dad doesn't return we may be dealing with a new male and at that time hopefully we will get some good ID pictures of him !
LOOK HERE
And here is another link!

Good morning Harrision Mills
By the looks of the branches moving around and of course, the sound it is very windy at the nest this morning.
I did try using full screen but was unable to. Using Chrome at the moment.
Hopefully things will improve.
Reading previous posts and great to hear the eagles are around.
Speaking of eagles I was at my neighbors the weekend, stepped outside and for some reason looked up and the most magnificient sight. A mature eagle flying overhead. From the size of the eagle I assumed the eagle was a female. Ran inside my home to grab the camera but there she was gone.
Enjoy your day.
Sandy
