At dawn there is a raccoon sleeping on the nest.
7:58am Thunder flies by high and then low as the raccoon scurries off the nest. Thunder stays on the front perch until 8:20am.

He doesn't stay at the nest but he sure was ready to protect it.

It is with great sadness that I type this. The Eagles4Kids nest has fallen in a very bad storm today at about 16:04pm

Keith was watching at the time the tree fell and has this video for us.

Video Camera Thank You Keith https://youtu.be/Ei-GT5F-aQs

The camera continues to stream even though the tree is down. There is much damage in the area. Hopefully we will have a sighting of the eagles in the valley.

Oh Donna. I am at a loss for words at this. All I could do was sit here and cry as I watched the video. Loved the Eagles4Kids nest and had great hopes that there would once again be eaglets to view on it. Maybe not this season but maybe the next. This is just heart breaking. Hope that where ever Blair and Thunder are that they remained safe in that storm.

Sending a group hug to all who watched and loved this nest.

Such sadness Donna, tears and tears here. We had so much hope this year. Thank you for posting Keiths video. Thank goodness we didn't have eaglets ( I guess ) Sad

The nest is resting in Beaver Creek. This is pretty hard to take in, but storms do this kind of damage every season. Here are a few pictures of the nest after the tree has fallen.

Big hug back to you both Photo and Rita and all who followed this nest.

Just can't believe this has happened. I went to the archives to watch it. Just after the first crack is heard I saw a gray squirrel scurry over the railing on the right side. Went under and probably not 3 seconds later down went the nest.
