6:50 pm

I finally saw someone on the nest! Even if it looks headless!

She has herself all worked up about something.

I thought maybe she was getting ready for Dad to drop off a fish but that wasn't to be. She is still chattering a mile a minute though.

7:01 pm
She got her fish after all. Dad delivered and then flew off.

7:02 pm
A second chick arrived to late for the claim.

The one with the fish is wasting no time eating. She must be really hungry when she doesn't mind the other chick being on the nest, otherwise she'd be wanting her to leave.

This is a nice size fish so maybe she will eventually share some of it.

... I have to go find supper for myself. BBL

7:33 pm
Checking cam and the chick nearest the cam is cleaning her beak and the other one has the fish now. Nice to know that they shared ! So I am guessing that these are likely Jasper and Blaze or a war would have broken out.

7:34 pm
Jasper flew off and Blaze is still on the nest with the fish.

Jasper returned --- I think it's her but why such a sudden return ? Is she standing guard so that Blaze can eat without trouble arriving ?

7:46 pm
Blaze finished the fish, cleans her beak and meanders about the nest .

7:48 pm
Blaze flew off headed NE. Jasper is still perched on the SW rim.

7:50 pm
Jasper flew off headed west

I arrived to see a chick devouring a fish with another looking longingly from the river rim at 7:15 (33) pm

7:23 (41) pm Still going at it and not looking like she will give up the fish anytime soon.

7:29 (46) pm The non-eater turns away from watching and there is a pause in eating. Shortly thereafter a steal attempt is made. Dramactic steal as the eater did not give in easily and the fish had to be torn from her talons at

7:31 (49) pm. Bet if you have this on tape you would love it. Grin Success and now another is enjoying this bounty.

7:47 pm The fish is finished and the last one to eat is feaking her beak and then flies left.

Hi Judy, thanks for catching the fish come in.

Hi Jean, I wasn't here for the fish steal so I thought maybe it was an amicable exchange. I'm glad you caught the action so now I know it wasn't a peaceful exchange like I had hoped.
It was good to know they each had food before night fall.

I am going to call it a night along with the birds. The day felt much too long and a nice soak in the tub and early bedtime appeals to me at the moment.

See you in the morning.

No that chick was really enjoying her fish, must have been a tasty one. I was lucky to see them as just got here and haven't been able to watch today. It is so close to departure time that every sighting is one to cherish. love

Thanks for catching all that, the nest looks lonely now at nearly 8 pm, but the colours of the river and vegetation are lovely.

Thank You Christine, Judy and Jean for catching the visits tonight as well
as the wonderful supper that Dad delivered.....what a guy! Wub

So good that both ate, the skies down south here are so black with storm clouds....some rumbles too. Raining in some parts of the city.
I even heard that there is a frost warning for outlying areas like Okotoks (south) and Airdrie (north of city)

Have a wonderful evening friends......I so agree, each moment with these beauties now are ones to cherish Red Heart
