Dad is still working at that very long branch -- pulling at the narrow end of it -- but he's not making much progress.

The poor guy he does have a dilemma -- the Y part won't cooperate at all for him. Mom prefers watching the river and hasn't bothered to help out.

No Dad, you can't stand on one part of the Y and pull the other part of it at the same time. That just won't work.
At times like this I wish we could just reach into the camera and give him a hand. He's working so hard and getting absolutely nowhere.

OMG could things get worse ? Now he has it flipped upside down in a hoop shape.

Lo and behold he finally got it moved to the rim. He will be needing a rest after all that... Me too just from the stress of watching him. Grin

I guess he does have more energy left than I thought --- another mating takes place before he leaves.

Good morning Calgary! Sunny

Wonderful s'caps of our busy Dad this morning, Judy, and wish I could stay but just dropped in to see Dad leaving Mom at the front of the nest at 8:36 am. Perhaps he will do some fishing so he can maintain his stamina for his continuing hard work in the nest building and egg fertilizing departments! Your s'caps of the large y branch placement are wonderful, thanks again.

8:56 am Mom remains ever watchful on the river rim; though Mom doesn't appear as worn out as she was last year upon her return she is leaving the bulk of the early work to Dad once again. She must be conserving her energy for the important task of motherhood ahead. Wub We all know what a superb job she does there.wave

Good morning JD, hope you are able to get out and enjoy this beautiful weather today.

At 9:17 am
Dad arrived long enough to mate with Mom once again and flew off as he usually does. I didn't have time to capture a picture this time.

12:10 p.m.
My last peek at the nest for the day and Mom is the only one home.

Thank You Judy for the wonderful scaps from this morning's action! Dad is so funny Titter
and does try so hard, what a guy! and thank you JD also, I agree that Mom has more zip this year, compared to last.

Mom is so relaxed she almost nods off here and there....its a nice day allright!
I am looking forward to the rain that is in the forecast! Desperately need everywhere....
