Great pictures, Karen! I'm not seeing any sort of copyright by FortisAlberta, and they do permit linking and embedding their cam on other pages, so it's probably all right to set up a thread and post pictures - but it never hurts to actually get permission if possible. They do have a Facebook page with some posts about the osprey (as well as posts about power outages), so perhaps we could send them a PM there.

Jkr - what do you think?

Here are a few more pictures from the Milford, CT, osprey nest - the first of their four eggs should be hatching today or tomorrow, if all goes well!

From about 5 pm

What a great expression! I think this is the female returning.

The switch - looks as if all eggs are still intact - and very hard to see pips on osprey eggs!

I'm still not interested in setting up a thread - I tend to only look in a couple of times a month, and there is an active thread on another forum.

wave Hi Judy B & JKR

I am collecting s'caps for the FortisAB site in case you want to set up a thread. It is a very active nest. Not only is there a highway below but there is also a railway track. I am not on facebook and am not keen on going there. I spend more than enough time on posting on HWF sites. Even if you don't set up a thread for this nest I will continue to follow it every day. Please let me know what you decide.

I'll try to contact Fortis this weekend, Karen, unless you can do it sooner, Judy?

A few more pictures from Milford - I think it's day 40 for the first egg and no sign of a hatch yet (though it's really hard to see pips on osprey eggs) but Kidd and Lola have been very busy this morning bringing in "stuff" - perhaps getting ready for a new arrival or two.

Next a big stick or reed; Lola first tried placing it on top of Kidd, but then decided to move it to one of the edges:

I would prefer one of you to contact FortisAB. I am not in the admin of HWF and would not have that much influence or experience doing that kind of thing yet.

Is that a bag of groceries on the nest, Judy? Rolling on floor laughing

Karen, nothing toRolling on floor laughingwith trash on a nest. Very bad for the environment, and very dangerous to nestlings and adults on a nest, a poor reflection on humans. Trash always makes me angry, never makes me laugh.
